Wedding Day Blues
Author's
note: This story continues on from Goblet of Fire and it should be understood
that there are two Voldemort's existing - Voldemort as the reincarnation at his
father's graveside and Tom Riddle.
Part One - Wedding Day Blues
It had been nine long years since Voldemort
had re-emerged at his father's graveside. Harry Potter had left Hogwarts six
years ago, expecting his last three years there to be full of pain and
suffering, duels and battles but Voldemort had never re-appeared after the night
of the Tri-Wizard Tournament final. It was like he and the other Death-Eaters
had never happened.
Harry was now working as an Auror for the
Ministry of Magic part-time but since there was no evil around he could
concentrate on his other job: Seeker for the Montrose Magpies and of course
England.
But Harry wouldn't be working for the next
three weeks. He was getting married, at the same age his father had married his
mother, twenty-four years old. His stomach was fluttering with anticipation, he
couldn't believe that it had taken him so long (and already been jilted by
someone else at the altar) to realize that the love of his life was right under
his nose all along, Ginny Weasley.
Ron came barging into the room, interrupting
his thoughts.
"Harry, I've lost the ring. I'm really
really sorry mate, I had it and its now, its now gone!"
"WHAT! Ron, how could you?" but his
voice trailed off as he saw the mischievous grin on Ron's face.
CLICK, suddenly went a camera. It was Colin
Creevy who had been hired as the official photographer at the Potter-Weasley
wedding.
"Excellent Harry, excellent! You're going
to simply love these photos!"
"Hmmmmmm, thanks Colin. Could you leave
me and Ron alone though now, I think I need to have a talk with my best
man."
"Sure," said Colin hurrying out of
the door.
"What's wrong Harry?" Ron asked
Harry who to Ron seemed nervous.
"It's just that . . . Well . . . I wonder
if I'm doing the right thing marrying Ginny."
"Harry! This is my sister you're talking
about. If you hurt her . . ."
"It's just that, well its stupid
really."
"Go on."
"Well me and Cho," Harry blurted
out.
"Harry, she left you at the altar two
years ago. Get over it already! She obviously changed her mind and you and Ginny
are perfect together."
"It's just that I always felt that she
was made not to marry me. I mean she disappeared off to Australia and I only
ever got that note from her four months afterwards, it seems strange. It was
really out of character for her."
Ron looked at his friend. Harry loved Ginny,
Ron was sure of that but Ron had always felt that deep down Harry still harbored
feelings for Cho. He didn't want to hurt his friend though or his sister. He
wished Harry could be happy like him and Hermione who wedded last year.
"Harry, you've just got the jitters
that's all. I mean look when Hermione and I got married. I felt that I was
making a big mistake. Me, Ronald Weasley marrying the cleverest witch in the
country and the youngest ever Minister of Magic! It's only natural to get the
jitters."
"Yeah, I suppose. It's probably just
nerves. So, have all the guests arrived?" Harry asked trying desperately to
change the subject.
Ron began to chatter away about the wedding
tomorrow afternoon. But at the back of Harry's mind he was still worried, he
hadn't told Ron that lately his scar was hurting every time Ginny was near him.
In fact he hadn't told anyone at all.
Part Two - The Wedding Day
"Harry, the cars are here, hurry
up," shouted Hermione from the bottom of the stairs.
"A button has come off and I can't zap it
back on," Harry shouted back.
"Honestly, men!" said Hermione,
apparating up the stairs. "Come here Harry," and she pointed her wand
at his shirt and muttered "Repario."
Ron appeared from the bathroom. "Why do
we have to take cars, can't we just apparate?"
"Ron I've told you a million times,
no!" said Hermione. "Honestly, we can't just apparate into a Muggle
Church can we? Harry wants to keep it traditional anyway and free of
magic."
Ron stuck his tongue out at Hermione. Harry
laughed, "Honestly, I have no idea how you two ended up married!"
"Harry, don't be so personal,"
Hermione said with a little tut. "Come on anyway, its the bride that is
supposed to be late, not the groom."
Meanwhile, at the Weasley house, Ginny was
adding her final touches to her make-up. She smiled to herself into the mirror.
After tomorrow once we arrive at the villa for our honeymoon, Harry Potter is
not going to know what hit him once I've finished with him, she thought to
herself, he's not going to even live that long . . .
"Where is she Ron?" Harry asked
tapping his foot impatiently.
"She'll be here, she's just late that's
all. It's tradition," Ron replied.
Harry turned around. He would be so
embarrassed if he got stood up at the altar again. He looked at the guests that
filled the church. There was Sirius, smiling proudly at him at the front, Harry
smiled back. Behind him was Lupin, Dumbledore, Hagrid and his wife Madam Maxime,
all the Weasley family, Oliver Wood with his wife Parvati Patil and baby son
Malcolm and lots of other familiar faces too including the Dursley's. Dudley
would never let him forget it of he got stood up again. He hadn't wanted them to
come but they had turned up anyway.
"She's here," a voice yelled from
the back of the church.
Part Three - Transfiguration
Ginny smiled triumphantly at the large diamond
ring on her wedding finger. She had only been Mrs Harry Potter for three hours,
the ceremony had gone without a glitch. All she had to do now was get her
husband away from talking to every single guest and they then could leave to
catch their plane to the villa in the Seychelles. Harry had insisted that they
had a traditional wedding with no magic and Ginny had been happy to agree. It
had taken her long enough for her and Harry to start dating but she had sorted
out that obstacle called Cho Chang. No one would be hearing from her no more,
not buried six feet underground anyway.
"Right," shouted Harry over the
noise. "I think its time for me and my Ginny, my darling wife to be on our
way."
"Darling, come here. I have a surprise
for you." Ginny shouted nine hours later at the villa.
"Coming," shouted Harry back at her.
He put down the suitcase and looked over into the mirror. He truly was the
luckiest man in the world. All that about his scar hurting because of Ginny had
just been a pathetic excuse for the jitters. He felt truly happy. He walked to
where Ginny was in the living room.
She was stood there in the middle of the room
holding her wand. Harry walked up to her and before he could give her a kiss,
she simply said "Crucio" and Harry started to scream in pain, his scar
burning violently. He fell back into the chair and distantly heard Ginny yell
something. The next thing he knew the pain had stopped but he had been tied up
securely in the chair, his wand in the other room.
"Ginny," he said weakly.
"SHUT UP HARRY! YOUR LITTLE WIFE HAS GOT
A NICE SURPRISE FOR YOU!" Ginny screeched at him.
Harry looked up weakly and before his very
eyes, Ginny had transfigured herself into Lord Voldemort! Harry was speechless.
Voldemort sat down in the other chair opposite
Harry and began to speak.
"Right then Harry," he said in a
voice that sent shivers down his spine. "I'm going to tell you a story.
Sitting comfortably? Doesn't matter if you're not, you'll listen anyway. In your
second year at Hogwarts, I used myself as Tom Riddle to open the Chamber of
Secrets. Remember Harry? Well you tried to stop me, you rushed in to save little
Ginny Weasley's life. You defeated me as Tom Riddle and you saved Ginny Weasley.
Wrong Harry, you saved me. You see I transfigured Ginny's mind and soul into
Tom's body and myself into Ginny's. Advanced dark magic Harry. Ginny was very
weak you see, I easily could control her as Tom Riddle, I made you think that it
was Tom Riddle there in the Chamber of Secrets but the thing is, it wasn't.
Harry, you killed little Ginny Weasley, clever wasn't it? You then brought me
back up to Hogwarts but everyone thought I was Ginny and I was physically but
who was I to tell them otherwise?"
Harry stared at Voldemort. It was amazingly
far-fetched though possible this story but Harry knew that Voldemort was telling
the truth. It all began to make sense to him.
"So Harry, I longed to kill you but I was
now just a weak little girl. And besides you were protected too strongly. The
Tri-Wizard Tournament was arranged, I found out about it and I arranged it that
you'd be in it with the hope that my future self would kill you once you had
touched the Portkey. But he failed. I then tried to date you at Hogwarts.
Remember Harry? The change in clothes, the make-up, the hair but you were more
interested in Cho Chang, so I killed her on your wedding day and then I was
there to comfort you afterwards. We fell in love, hilariously funny isn't it
Harry? And now, that's the end of that little story. I'm now off to kill you.
It's taken me nine years to get you alone, you're the only one who could ever
stop me, you know that don't you? But not any more, you'll be long gone."
Harry looked into Voldemort's eyes. He was
powerless and he knew what was about to happen.
Voldemort stood up, looked at Harry and simply
said, "So there you have it my dear boy. You've managed to have twenty-four
years of borrowed time but its like that vicar said yesterday "Till death
do us part" and I don't fancy dying, in fact I can't, so I guess it has to
be you. AVADA KEDARVA!"
And with that, the boy who lived, lived no
more. Lord Voldemort had finally won and within three weeks, all of Harry's
friends were dead. Voldemort and his death-eaters were ruling the world and all
because little Ginny Weasley had trusted her diary all those years ago and had
fallen in love with Harry Potter.
